Her 16-year-old friend in the passenger seat was killed instantly, the police reported.
The passenger, a high school student, identified by the local media as Sofia Magerko, was streaming an Instagram Live video as her friend was driving.
The video, still available online, shows the two women singing and dancing in the moving car. One of them, Magerko, is seen taking a sip from a bottle of what appears to be an alcoholic drink.
The women make a stop to adjust the phone camera and put on music. After that, they put on a recent hit by Ukrainian band Griby and start driving and singing along loudly.
“Hello! Hi, boys!” Magerko shouts into the camera.
Seconds later, a scream and a loud cracking sound indicate the deadly crash as the video goes black. It kept rolling for two more minutes, recording the sounds of drivers stopping and discussing the crash.
WARNING: THE VIDEO CONTENT CAN BE DISTURBING TO SOME VIEWERS
While many commentators and some news media name drinking as the reason of the crash, the police have made no such announcement yet. The video only shows the passenger drinking.
This isn’t the first time a live social media video has accidentally captured a death. In April, a 13-year-old teenager from the U.K. accidentally shot himself dead while filming an Instagram Live video.
