Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov believes that Lviv International Airport may be the first to open in the country. It will take up to two weeks to resume its operation, but it is impossible to do without guaranteed security.
“We consider Lviv Airport to be the first airport. I hope that, as it was with the Black Sea Grain Initiative, when we receive guaranteed security, guarantees primarily from international partners, from the UN, we will start,” Kubrakov said at the 17th meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) “Ukraine for the Protection of our Common Freedom.”

Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi noted that the airport is technically ready to launch. The main concern is security.
“The opening of the air corridor is an important step to strengthen the Ukrainian economy. I hope our international partners understand this, particularly the UN, which can provide the necessary security guarantees,” Sadovyi wrote on Telegram.
The city’s mayor promised that the local authorities would do everything necessary to resume the airport operation.
