“Today, it is impossible to avoid thoughts about the war. All the exhibited works have been created during Russia’s full-scale invasion – it’s an outlet for energy. This is a certain message to the world. There’s just a fight going on for my land and my future right now. What could be more important?” Anton Lohov said.
According to the artist, the Debris of the Sun exhibition is about the consequences for the world of civilization disasters. About the changes in thinking and meditating when the bullets are turning into sunrays. The debris is our thoughts about reality, creating a kaleidoscopic view of life on Earth.
Anton Lohov’s project combines graphics and painting. The disk of the Sun is a sacred form that appears yellow, red, white, blue, and black in the plane of the canvases.
“Abstraction is always vague, all-encompassing, ambiguous. It gives space for the viewer’s personal ideas, which can bounce back from the image proposed by me and wander mentally, emotionally in a private space.
War will not destroy beauty. Beauty is transformational. People are constantly searching for their place ‘under the Sun’. And on the Debris of this Sun, a new life will continue.” Anton Lohov underlines.
The exhibition runs every day 10:00-19:00 till Nov. 26, except for Mondays. More information here http://yagallery.com/en/exhibitions/ulamki-soncya.
