“We're aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Downdetector, a site that shows service disruptions, has shown a spike in problem reports across the major social media sites with more than 500,000 reports for Facebook and more than 90,000 reports for Instagram.
Downdetector also showed an increased number of outage reports for Google, though some services, such as YouTube, appear to remain unaffected.
The outage does not seem to affect messaging apps such as Telegram and Viber at present. Social media platform X is also working at the moment.
