Politico calls it “the world’s premier tech conference;” the Atlantic says Web Summit is “where the future goes to be born,” and the New York Times that it assembles “a grand conclave of the tech industry’s high priests.”
In their invitation to our Chief Editor, the Web Summit organizers wrote: “You've been doing incredible work on delivering the news about Ukraine…and we would love to have you speak and moderate at this year’s event.”
Last year, Ukraine’s delegation included the first lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, and Mykhailo Fedorov, the then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Digital Transformation, who both spoke at the event.
Mr. Nahaylo is the only representative from Ukraine’s media to be invited to participate at this year’s event.
On Nov. 14 he will moderate a discussion on the Centre Stage with Ukrainian former champion boxer representing Kyiv Digital, Wladimir Klitschko, on the theme: Ukraine: Two years on.
Later that day our Chief Editor will be a speaker with a prominent Portuguese journalist Ricardo Costa at the session “Onto the fray: Reports from the frontlines,” moderated by TIME Senior Correspondent Vera Bergengruen.
The subject: “The ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East raises crucial questions about the significance of war correspondence. [In] this session… discover how, by navigating through propaganda and misinformation, journalists play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and unbiased accounts from the frontlines.”
Mr. Nahaylo comments: “It’s a great honor for me to represent Kyiv Post and Ukraine’s media in this prestigious global event at such a critical historic moment. It’s a huge boost not only for our team but for all of the journalists covering Russia’s military and informational aggression and Ukraine’s resistance and self-renewal.”
