On July 12, Russian troops attacked Mykolaiv at sunrise.

“Two medical facilities and residential buildings were hit and at least 12 citizens have been injured,” Mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych reported on his Telegram channel.

The same information was reported by Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Administration Vitaliy Kim. BBC Correspondent Sara Rainsford also reported that there were at least seven explosions in Mykolaiv on Wednesday morning.

At 04:15, the Mayor announced that powerful explosions were heard in Mykolaiv. Once again, residential buildings were destroyed and several fires broke out at the scene of the strikes.

Mykolaiv has been bombarded heavily by Russian troops in recent days. On July 9 and 11, Russian troops fired six missiles at Mykolaiv, with both attacks occurring in the morning. These followed a wave of strikes on July 5, with damage to at least seven high-rise buildings in the city.

The intensity of strikes in the region has not subsided since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, says Vitaly Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Region Administration.

“They don’t change the intensity. From six to 12 missiles hit Mykolaiv every day. Shelling is carried out in the Mykolaiv and Bashtansky districts. These are both artillery and MLRS. As for Mykolaiv city, in our opinion, these are converted S-300 missiles. There has been a change from “surface-to-air” types to “surface-to-surface” types, so they have a wide error margin when hitting,” noted Kim on July 11.
