Reports have again surfaced that the special services of Russia and Belarus are planning a false flag terrorist attack against an oil facility in Belarus and blaming the incident on Ukraine to involve Belarus directly in Russia’s war. This follows reports of similar false flag plans two months ago.

According to the Center for National Resistance (CNR), the false flag attack would target the Neftebaza Brestoblnefteprodukt oil depot near the village of Priluki, Brest region, which is not far (2 km) from the Belarusian-Polish border.

In early August the Security Services of Ukraine (SBU) published warnings about a plan for a false flag attack against the Mazyr oil refinery in Belarus about 20 km from the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, but the attack never materialized.

CNR says an agreement was reached between the Russian FSB and the Belarusian KGB to conduct “an operation under a false flag” by dropping explosives on oil storage tanks using a drone to make it look like an attack by Ukrainians, possibly from Polish territory.

According to CNR, they received information from the Belarusian underground that the PMC Wagner mercenaries conducted aerial reconnaissance of alleged objects in August this year for a potential venue for such an operation.

The earlier SBU report concerning the alleged Mazyr planning also said Wagner may have been involved.

Responding to the CNR reports, Ukraine’s military Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) representative, Andriy Yusov, told Kyiv Post that the Russian Federation is not giving up attempts to bring Belarus into the war with Ukraine, although so far Russia has not been able to achieve this.

“Putin’s dictatorship does not abandon attempts to draw the army of the republic of Belarus in a full-scale war and ground operation against Ukraine on the side of the Russian invaders,” Yusov said.

He said that Belarus knows who is really preparing provocations on their territory: “Unfortunately, the crimes of the Russian special services are possible on the territory of Belarus as well.”

“However, it should be noted the position of Ukraine that we are fighting with the Russian invaders, and liberating our lands from the Russian invaders,” Yusov said. “So, there are no plans for such actions to harm the peaceful population of Belarus and interfere with the sovereignty of that country.

“Of course, Ukraine is not planning this and will not be involved.”
