As a result of a Russian artillery attack, 17 civilians have been injured in Kharkiv, the Head of the Kharkiv military administration, Oleh Synehubov, reported on his Telegram channel on July 21.
According to him, the Russian occupiers hit one of the city’s medical institutions, with local authorities advising civilians to stay at home or go to a shelter.

On social media platforms such as Twitter, residents reported that a fire broke out due to the hits.
Synehubov confirmed that 17 people were injured, but that the data is not yet final.
“According to previous information provided by the Regional Emergency Medical Center, 17 people were injured as a result of the shelling of one of Kharkiv’s residential areas,” he reported on Telegram.
The shelling of one of Kharkiv’s most densely populated districts began on Thursday, July 21, after 9 am. The day before, on the morning of July 20, three people were killed due to Russian shelling, including a 13-year-old boy. His 15-year-old sister is in serious condition, and an elderly woman was also injured.
“Russians are attacking Kharkiv. So residents need to pay attention: stay in shelters, do not go outside without an urgent need, don’t ignore alarm signals,” Synehubov wrote on his Telegram.
Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, also urges people to stay in safe places whilst the shelling of Ukraine’s second-largest city.

On the previous day, in the Kharkiv Region, four civilians were killed and 11 more were injured.
“During the day, due to shelling by the Russian invaders, four civilians were killed in the Kharkiv region. Three were killed in Kharkiv, including a 13-year-old child. A 72-year-old man was killed in Bohodukhivsky district. In general, 11 people were injured. Three people were injured in Kharkiv, including a 15-year-old girl. Five people were injured in Chuhuyivsky district, two people were injured in Bohodukhivsky district, and one person was injured in Izyumsky district,” Kharkiv’s mayor confirmed.
“The occupiers are deliberately shelling fields with ripe wheat, as a result of which fires break out, and the crops in the fields are destroyed,” he added. “Fields burned in the Chuhuyivsky and Bohodukhivsky districts. In the Zolochiv community, two fields on an area of 60 hectares caught fire. Thanks to the work of rescuers and farmers, the fire did not spread to another 66 hectares of wheat. In general, the enemy has already destroyed more than 130 hectares of grain crops in the Kharkiv Region.”
