Russian troops attacked Kostiantynivka, Donetsk Region, on Wednesday, Sept. 6, resulting in 17 fatalities, including one child, with an additional 31 people injured.
This was according to the Donetsk regional administration Hromadske citing the Donetsk regional administration as the source. A correspondent from Radio Liberty, present at the scene, corroborated the casualty figures.
Details regarding the specific weaponry used in the attack are being investigated. According to the preliminary information from Ukrainian media, it was the S-300 missile system.
President Volodymyr Zelensky shared a video capturing the moment when a Russian missile struck Kostiantynivka's Central Market.
"Currently, artillery of Russian terrorists has killed 16 people in the city of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. A normal morning. The store. Pharmacy. People who didn't do anything wrong. Many wounded. Unfortunately, the number of dead and injured may still increase," Zelensky wrote.
