Viktor Medvedchuk, a former Ukrainian pro-Kremlin politician who is facing treason charges in Ukraine, has officially registered a social movement called “Other Ukraine” in Russia.
The group claims to be a public non-religious organization rather than a political party.

Denis Zharkikh, a former Ukrainian journalist and who has been associated with Medvedchuk since 2015, has been given a key role within the movement. Zharkikh’s collaboration with Medvedchukbegan when the former politician acquired the 112 Ukraine TV channel, and appointed Zharkikh as the host of the program “In Fact.”
As reported by “Schemes,” the “Other Ukraine” groupt was established in June this year with its address being registered at 9 Kemarnitsky Lane, Arbat, Moscow. The organization has also asserted ownership of the trademarks “Real Ukraine,” “Voice of Another Ukraine,” as well as “Other Ukraine.”
Due to its classification as a non-religious public organization, “Other Ukraine” is ineligible to participate in elections for local councils or the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
Recently, the movement has been actively organizing public events with an anti-Ukrainian focus within Russia. On July 19, it held a Round Table discussion titled “Ukrainian Russophobia: Origins and Mechanisms of Overcoming” at the Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad.

During the event, Medvedchuk's article, “Two Ukraines as a New Political Reality,” was a central topic of discussion. Notably, political experts, pro-Russian political strategists, and former deputies from the banned “Opposition Platform - For Life” party who fled Ukraine after the Feb. 24, 2022, full-scale invasion are actively involved in the activities of this project.
