Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of the Chechen Republic, and his trusted aide, Adam Delimkhanov, have reportedly departed from the Russian Federation to partake in a “Hajj” to Mecca. Reports suggesting severe illness and death surrounding both individuals have been dismissed as a disinformation campaign to conceal their actual whereabouts, according to the VCHKA-OGPU newspaper citing insider sources.

Hajj is the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest city for those of the Muslim faith. Hajj is a mandatory requirement that must be carried out at least once in the lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey.

It is claimed that, concerned about potential assassination attempts during their pilgrimage, Kadyrov and Delimkhanov orchestrated a subterfuge, claiming they had been hospitalized and were critically ill.

The VCHK-OGPU publication said: “It seems that the story of Delimkhanov and Kadyrov being in intensive care was invented by them and launched to hide their real location. Sources say they went to Mecca for the Hajj, but they were terrified of an assassination attempt and staged a performance as if both were in hospitals and near death.”

"Moreover, they were so afraid that they also told this to their close relatives to [maintain] the pretence."

VCHK-OGPU claims to have contacted Delimkhanov directly by telephone, with the correspondent posing as “an assistant to a highly placed official.” In their conversation, Delimkhanov, who identified himself as a “fighter against Satanists,” emphatically declared his well-being.

Shipwrecked Russian Tankers Pollute Kerch Strait Wetlands, Birds Covered With Oil

It seems probable the two ships were either part of Russia’s “shadow tanker” fleet, or en route to pump sanctions-evading Russian oil aboard a “clean” tanker.

Shortly after this information appeared, Kadyrov and Delimkhanov who is his cousin, released a joint video message on an Instagram channel associate with the Chechen leader on the evening of July 2. The Chechen TV channel “Grozny” claimed that the Instagram post had been presented that day.

The video purportedly captures the duo engaging in casual conversation while drinking tea, their initial chat being in Chechen before switching to Russian. Delimkhanov attempts to further substantiate the authenticity of the post by allowing the screen of a mobile phone screen to be seen that displays the date and time as being20:47 on July 2.

The Disappearance of Kadyrov and Delimkhanov

There were on June 14, that Adam Delimkhanov had been targeted by Ukrainian missiles in the Zaporizhzhia region and had suffered severe injuries. Kadyrov initially validated his aide's “disappearance” on social media and publicly called upon the Ukrainian intelligence service to disclose the location of the attack. However, the announcement was interpreted as an exercise in trolling and was staged by both Kadyrov and Delimkhanov.

Persistent rumors surrounding Kadyrov's supposed chronic illness resurfaced, which once again gained traction. Adding to the intrigue, one of Kadyrov's sons recently posted a peculiar message on social media, seemingly bidding farewell to his ailing father. The deliberate tone of the post only strengthened perceptions of an impending tragedy, which now seem to be entirely bogus.
