Russian media was shaken this morning when it heard the news of plans to open a plant in Ukraine to produce Turkish Bayraktar drones. Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar stated that his company had received the necessary licenses from Turkey to manufacture TB2 and Akıncı attack drones in Ukraine, as reported by Turkish news sources.

The plant is scheduled to open in 2025, with preparations including the provision of electrical power to the proposed site is expected to be connected as early as next month.

"Most of the preparatory work is already underway ... the power will be available on-site in July," Bayraktar noted.

Russian war correspondents immediately reacted by spreading messages with critical and hostile comments on Turkish foreign policy.

"In the language of Turkish foreign policy, the news is as follows: If the current conflict remains unresolved, Ankara will immediately start arming Ukraine for the next one and is ready to play a leading role in this process," said Russian Telegram user Kotenok Z.

Russian ultra-nationalist Igor Strelkov also angrily commented on the news, warning that Turkey would become a dangerous adversary for Russia in the coming years.

"The elections are over, all the associated 'plushies' from the Russian Federation have been received, and our friend Recep [Turkish president Erdogan] is pursuing new achievements. Turkey will likely pose the most significant military threat to us in the coming years. The Kremlin continues to be convinced that everything is tip-top and there is no need to work hard," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
