Early this morning, June 14, at around 2 a.m., Odesa was attacked by four Russian Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea.

Three of the missiles were shot down by the Ukrainian air defense, while one hit a residential district of the city.

So far the number of victims stand at 3 dead and 13 wounded. According to the Interior Ministry, the search and rescue operation after the missile attack has been completed.

However, emergency workers are still cleaning up of the debris.

More victims may still be under the rubble.

The new head of the Odesa region Oleh Kiper was seen at the scene of the disaster.

The missiles hit the Prymorsk district, on Shevchenko Avenue, opposite the Odesa Polytechnic National University. A missile hit a warehouse of the Tavria-V supermarket chain. A fire broke out, which has already been extinguished.

The victims are mainly employees of the company. Other seriously damaged buildings are a residential complex, a business center, the Polytechnic University, a McDonald’s restaurant and shops in the city center.

The result of the Russian attack was the destruction of 1,000 square meters and a fire over an area of 400 square meters.

A Kyiv Post reporter on site observed that there was no military infrastructure or ammunition depots in the affected area that might be considered a military target.

Like the attack that took place on June 10 in another residential district of Odesa, where three lost their lives, this one too has the characteristics of a targeted attack on the civilian population, almost as a revenge for the ongoing attacks of the Ukrainian army on the forehead.
