Ukrainian farmers have already harvested 20.8 million tonnes of early grain crops, according the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
“Mykolaiv and Zakarpattia regions have completed the harvesting of early grain crops. 95% of rapeseeds and peas have already been threshed, as well as 82% of wheat and 89% of barley. Agricultural producers of Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions threshed more than 2 million tonnes of grain each, and five other regions crossed the million mark of grain harvesting,” the report says.

Grain and leguminous crops were collected from an area of 5.5 million hectares (49%), with 20.8 million tonnes of grain being threshed. In particular, farmers collected wheat from 3.8 million hectares, with 15.4 million tonnes being threshed; barley from 1.4 million hectares, with 4.9 million tonnes being threshed; peas from 106,000 hectares, with 239,000 being threshed.
In addition, winter rapeseeds were collected from an area of 1.042 million hectares, with 2.9 million tonnes of seeds being threshed. The highest yield of grain and leguminous crops was recorded in Khmelnytskyi region – 62 centner/ha
As reported, Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food increased the forecast for this year’s harvest to 65-67 million tonnes.
