“Another massive terrorist attack on the Khmelnytsky community. This time the enemy used drones. We know about one killed and four wounded. Several buildings were damaged. Fires are being extinguished,” he said on his Telegram channel.
According to the center of strategic communications, the person killed in Khmelnytsky was a rescuer of the State Emergency Service, who died in the line of duty.
Speaking of the wider attack, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement: “The enemy attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed drones from the north. A total of 14 kamikaze drones were launched, eleven of which were destroyed by air defense.”
Officials in Kyiv said that nine drones were shot down in the airspace around the capital, with no casualties or hits to infrastructure.
What if Russia Wins?
“The drone attack was carried out in two waves, stretched out as long as possible. In this way, the enemy tried to realize its tactical goal – to deplete our air defense. That’s why the last night air alert in Kyiv lasted for a long five and a half hours,” said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Administration in its official Telegram channel.
